Ivan Thung, former consultant at UN-Habitat HQ in Nairobi will describe how the agency is addressing some of the enduring urban challenges in the global south> he will give an account of the UN-Habitat’s Urban Planning and Design Lab in implementing the new urban agenda. This includes the work of the UN-Habitat on the African continent (Ghana, Kenya, South Africa) as well as the challenges of explosive growth in post-conflict situations (Somalia, Afghanistan).
