2018 AESOP Conference Pre-Organized Session

Track 10 (Education)- Planning Education and Community-Based Research and Practice

Description

Communities play a critical role in the global-local nexus of planning practice and research and illuminate the complexity of operating the concept of sustainability at the micro scale. For both educators and students, communities are also the laboratories for transdisciplinary collaboration and co-creation in the new era of university social responsibility. This pre-organized session invites papers that exemplify the trend in planning education, curriculum development and innovative pedagogy that are grounded in the community context around the world. A diversity of reflective, evaluative, critical perspectives of contemporary educational practices that connect with learning, teaching and planning theories are welcome in this session. This pre-organized session will be the foundation for a special issue in Planning Practice and Research.
