On initiative of the Van Eesteren-Fluck & Van Lohuizen Foundation (EFL), the Archives of the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (gta) at the ETH Zurich and the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS) a seminar on the mapping of cities was organized on 29 October 2014 in Amsterdam. The seminar was held on the occasion of the publication of the Atlas of the Functional City, which presents the results of research into the comparative city analysis and maps exhibited at the fourth CIAM congress in 1933. Eminent speakers and scholars from several European countries and from the fields of history, architecture theory, urban design, planning, political sciences, media and information technology and the arts were present at the seminar.
