Presentations of Urbanism studio work by Wenchi Yang and Sebastiaan Huls made a big impact at the iCities conference at the National Cheng Kong University, Tainan, Taiwan in May. Their presentations on studio work from the IJssel-Vecht-Delta / Zwolle region and Sāo Paulo, Brazil raised by far the most questions and comments from the audience. Both projects demonstrated the breadth of work in urbanism, integrating questions of spatial and urban form with governance and spatial justice. Wenchi and Sebastiaan were also very active in questioning students from other universities at the conference and engaging in debate. They gave a great demonstration of the high quality of Urbanism students.

Also speaking at the iCities conference were Professor Vincent Nadin of TU Delft, Professor Clinton Andrews of Rutgers University; Professor Qing Shen of Washington University, Len Ren Lee Director of AECOM Hong Kong; Professor Cecilia Wong, Manchester University; Professor Janet Askew, President of the Royal Town Planning Institute, UK; Professor Nikhom Boonyanusith from Thailand, and others.

Professor Han Meyer was also speaking at the International Conference of Planning and Design (ICPD) at the same venue earlier that week, ensuring high profile for TU Delft in Taiwan!
