Title: Major concerns and instruments of spatial planning practices in China
Abstract: China is a fast developing country facing many challenges. Spatial planning plays a major role in solving these problems in China. This presentation focuses on the following questions: What are the characteristics and major concerns of the Chinese spatial planning? What are the main instruments of spatial planning and what are their effects? Some comparison of Chinese spatial planning to the Dutch practice will also be included in the effort of answering those questions.
