Inspired by the European mobility week, Bordeaux Metropole organizes a multi-disciplinary conference on September 22nd 2017 entitled “Femmes et mobilités urbaines” focusing on the mobility of women. Bordeaux university presents new empirical research on gendered use of transport modalities. SPS member of staff Lidewij Tummers presents a contribution on the urban planning perspective. She will explain how SDG4 (achieve gender equality) and SDG11 (create sustainable cities) can advance together, while failing to understand the gender dimension in planning can hamper sustainable development.
